Building Skills, Confidence and Team Spirit

The 2025 Junior Traralgon Camp brought together our young Ivanhoe Swim athletes for a weekend focused on skill development, racing experience and team connection.

Hosted in partnership with the Traralgon Swimming Club and coach Brian Ford, the camp provided swimmers with the opportunity to train in a new environment, refine technique across all strokes, and build confidence ahead of competition season.

Across the weekend, athletes took part in pool sessions, team-bonding activities, and a full day of racing at the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, achieving an impressive 48 personal bests. Highlights included breakthrough swims, first-time long course events, and plenty of moments of encouragement and teamwork both in and out of the water.

The camp also offered time to relax and have fun, with visits to local attractions and plenty of laughter between sessions – a perfect balance of focus, effort, and friendship.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers Amy, Shane, and Kaz for their support in making this experience possible for our young swimmers.

The Junior Traralgon Camp continues to be a valuable tradition for Ivanhoe Swim – inspiring growth, connection and a love of the sport among our next generation of athletes.
